Six years ago, when we set out to rebuild the 1/2-ton truck from the ground up,
we weren’t fooling around. The 2013 Toyota Tundra is the latest example of what
can be accomplished when you have an uncompromising work ethic. What do

features, like an available 5.7L i-FORCE V8 that cranks out the power to tow up
to 10,400 lb.3 It’s also equipped with a stout 10.5-in. ring gear to help handle
those five tons. Not to mention massive 4-piston brake calipers to help bring it
all to a stop without breaking a sweat. But Tundra doesn’t just work harder, it
works smarter. Dual Independent Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i)
makes this truck as efficient as it is powerful.
Why do we keep going to these extremes? Because when you’ve got a 1/2-ton
truck carrying a reputation this size, you don’t take it lightly.
